Bob Becker arranged to have a docent meet us at the entrance who knew her way around and where the action might be the best for photography. Thank you, Bob! The bad news is that our gorillas were kidnapped to another zoo (I think in Pittsburg <ugh!>). But on the flip side, the lions were awesome. You could have paid any sum of money to travel to Africa and not gotten better images of interaction between the huge maned male and his live-in girlfriend. The light was transcendent and the anthropomorphic expressions and body language between the two was never to be forgotten. Yes, there were chimps, orangs, zebras, etc., but this was definitely the highlight of our visit. If you missed it…you really missed it. But come see what you missed.
