Happy New Year! This is Eva with The Pablove Foundation. Our Pablove Shutterbugs program teaches children and teens living with cancer to develop their creative voice through the art of photography. Currently, we offer an 8-week long mentorship course in photography to pediatric oncology patients ages 6-18 in the Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties. We provide all of the necessary camera equipment and materials for our students, and offer the program free of cost to families.
I am getting in touch to see if any members of the members of F Stop Camera Club might be interested in being a part of this project as photography mentors. We are getting ready for our 8-week course in the winter of 2015 in Los Angeles. Classes for kids and teens take place on Saturday mornings, running from February 7th to March 29th, 2015. We are reaching out to local artists, arts organizations, community websites and forums in search of photographers interested in becoming volunteer mentors to our students. Each mentor is paired with a student that they work with individually for the 8 weeks of the course. We are seeking mentors with experience in photography and ideally with experience working with kids. Interested volunteers may email shutterbugs@pablove.org for an application, and may also apply online at www.pablove.org.
Would it be possible for you to introduce Pablove Shutterbugs to your organization and feature as a volunteer opportunity in photography?
If you have any questions, please feel to call or email us at 323-657-5557.
With gratitude,
Eva
