The July photo event was at the Natural History Museum and its Butterfly Exhibit on July 18. It was well attended and was a great opportunity for shooting. The exhibit continues through September.
In August we are zooming in on lighting. Bill Debley will give a free workshop for members ($15 for non-members) “Taking Control of Your Flash” on August 15 starting at 7 p.m. at the Village Northridge Meeting Room. Bring your camera and speedlight. Click for details...
Here are three things people will be able to do better as a result of this workshop:
- Get rid of your fear of using a flash.
- Understand how to use ambient and artificial light to set them apart from other photographers.
- Produce flattering light using Speedlight(s) on their subjects.
Dan Katz is doing a workshop, “The use of strobes in the studio for lighting models and how to create different effects with placement and modifiers”. It will be held on August 29 at 7 p.m., at The Village. This is for members only and will limited to 10 people. The cost is $25/person to cover the cost of the model.
